Urban Decay Petition

If you are like many of the beauty obsessed, you have already discovered Urban Decay Primer Potion. UDPP is a great eyeshadow primer that will not let your eyeshadow crease or fade. However, UDPP has a huge drawback....the packaging. The package of the primer doesn't allow you to access a huge amount of the product and the only way to get it out is to slice it open.

If you are a fan of this product and would like Urban Decay to change the packaging you have to visit the Beauty Booty blog and sign their petition.

Are your cosmetics safe?

It seems that we are hearing about unsafe ingredients in cosmetics more often lately and it's kind of scary. Apparently the ingredients used in cosmetics are not regulated by federal law, so some cosmetic companies get away with putting harmful ingredients in their products. Some good news is the Environmental Working Group is trying to put an end to this. Their website, Skin Deep, has a list of products and rates them on a scale of 1 and 10 on how hazardous their ingredients are. They also have a petition you can sign that they will send to Congress so that cosmetics can become safer.

Visit www.cosmeticsdatabase.com for more information and please spread the word!

Beauty Tip ~ Need a pick me up?

I have to admit that there are times when my eyes are dull and tired looking and I need something to brighten them up. One trick I've learned, is that a yellow-tinted eye powder does the trick when you need to brighten the eye area. I like to sweep Bare Escentuals Well-Rested powder on my eyelids and in the inner corner of my eyes. Believe me, this really makes my eye area look brighter. If I need a little extra oomph, I like to use L'Oreal Hip High Intensity Pigment in Restless, which is a pale yellow color with a little iridescence. Don't be afraid by the color, it doesn't make you look yellow, just brighter.

New Organic Beauty Line

It's seems that many cosmetic brands are launching products that are organic, natural, or eco-friendly. Physicians Formula is one of those brands. They are launching their Organic Wear line of products. This line includes concealer, tinted moisturizer, powder, bronzer, and blush. I've heard good things about these products and I am interested in trying them out.

The products will be sold in drugstores starting in February. For more information visit http://www.organicwearmakeup.com.

Review ~ Mirenesse Secret Weapon Mascara

I finally received my Mirenesse Secret Weapon Mascara! I have naturally long eyelashes, so on a daily basis I don't really apply a lot of mascara. However, when I go out and for special occasions I like to make my eyelashes pop. I've never really been "wowed" by a mascara...until now! This mascara really does give your eyelashes length and volume. Check it out:

I have the mascara on the top lashes of my right eye, and nothing on my left. The lashes on my right eye are definitely longer and fuller (it's more noticeable in person than in the picture).

I suggest you should definitely order a free sample (you only have to pay for shipping) and try it out!

Bare Escentuals Beauty Tour!

For the past 5 or 6 years I've been using mineral makeup and I love it! My first experience with mineral makeup was when I saw Leslie Blodgett, the CEO of Bare Escentuals, doing a demonstration of Bare Minerals foundation on QVC. I ordered the foundation and I've been using mineral cosmetics ever since. I've tried other mineral brands but I always go back to Bare Escentuals, there's just something about it.

I was looking at their website and I noticed they have beauty events scheduled around the country. Leslie Blodgett is even going to be at some of the events, showing off the makeup and giving tips.

If the tour is stopping in your area I would suggest you check it out!

I know I'm definitely going to try to make it to the Washington, D.C. Master class!
